Random notes while learning Fusion 360
- Delete will remove an object at point of creation in timeline. This will affect anything created using it. Remove assumes you needed the object at one point, but don’t need it now. Will be removed at the current point of the timeline, and any dependancies will not be affected.
- Press/Pull (extrude) is very flexible. Distance can be “measure” - select a line and that’s the extrusion distance
- move multiple components using XYZ requires using “design XYZ” not “component XYZ”
- components can have opacity set which allows visibility through components (not when sketching?)

- mirror components doesn’t preserve sketches within component or joint origins
- for complex designs, select the components from the treeview. Window select is very slow
CAM
- selecting individual edges for 2D contour - select edge, select contour, click U in HUD to switch to open contour.
- “failed to generate tool path” model has 1 missing selections
- So it looks like once you changed the model it invalidated its selection in the Setup. Edit your Setup, clear the Model selection, and reselect your body and it should work fine again.
- selecting faces and then 2d pocket makes the pocket tool select the wrong pocket height? Or something triggers selection of the wrong pocket height anyway.
- 350 in/min is fine for cutting foam with 1⁄2” downcut end mill
